The Ministry of Environment staged the Taiwan-Japan Technical Forum on Air and Noise Pollution Control in Construction May 27 in Taipei City, underscoring the government’s commitment to deepening transnational technical cooperation.
Experts including Yoshiharu Soeta and Yasutaka Ueda were invited to speak, the MOENV said. Soeta, from Japan’s Advanced Industrial Science and Technology based in Ibaraki prefecture, presented an in-depth analysis of noise evaluation and visualization technology, while Ueda, a member of the Tokyo-headquartered Acoustical Society of Japan, gave a detailed talk on the legal framework for the prevention of construction noise, the ministry said.
Academic and industrial professionals from Taiwan also shared insights at the forum. Wang Szu-hong, assistant professor at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in southern Taiwan’s Yunlin County, briefed the participants on smart construction site management and pollution warning technologies, and Lin Pei-yuan from Taipei-based Taiwan Kumagai shared relevant experience from the construction industry.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Environment Peng Chi-ming pledged to promote more effective management policies at construction sites through close exchange between academic, governmental and industrial sectors. The MOENV expressed hopes that the symposium would facilitate the formulation of additional high-standard preventative measures to expedite sustainable transformation in the construction industry.
